Brief update

Update

Life has been a tad busy, with a new part-time job in the week.

Since I last wrote we have taken more Christmas items.

Friday 7 September 2018

Banbury Craft & Gift Fair, Banbury Town Hall, 29 September 2018

We will be at the Banbury Craft and Gift fair, Banbury Town Hall,  from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday 29th September 2018.

Thame Craft & Gift Market, Thame Town Hall, 15 September 2018

Our next Craft and Gift fair will be in the Thame Town Hall.

We will be there from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday 15th September 2018.

We will have a wide range of products on show and for sale.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Mini Animals - Mongolian & European

A selection of our Mini Animals....

We'll start with the Mongolian animals

Mini Camel
The Mongolian Camel - with two humps.

All these animals are hand made from felt and are about 8cm long.

They are NOT suitable for small children (or anyone or anything else likely to try to eat them...).

The felt is all handmade.

Mini Yak

The Yak - Yaks are found in Tibet, Mongolia and other places where you need a woolly cow.

The Yak has been modelled moulting, in the process of shedding the long winter coat ready for the warmer weather of spring and summer.

Mini Horse

The Horse - Mongolians are famous for their horse riding skills.

Hardy Mongolian Horses transported Genghis Khan's armies across Asia, Russia and to the gates of Europe

Mini Sheep

The Sheep - Mongolian sheep really do look like this, with a white body and brown head.

A couple of not so Mongolian animals....

Spotty Dog

Spotty Dog - one of our most popular mini animals.  The tail is made in a loop shape so it can be used as a key ring or hang from a bag.

As with all our animals, hand made felt, hand coloured & hand sewn.

Witney Craft & Gift Market, The Corn Exchange, Witney

Just to say that we will be at The Corn Exchange, Witney, Oxfordshire 10.00 to 16.00.  You are very welcome to come along, see and try our range of bags, jewellery & other stuff.

Added 1st Sept.

Back from Witney.  a slow steady day, but nice positive comments and sales.  Our new ear-ring display was quite effective - Saturn felt ear-rings went well.  Mini Animals also did well - Camels in particular galloped away.

Christmas goods

A further item to whet your appetite.

The Christmas nativity scene.  Hand made felt hand sewn in the Gobi desert.  Drop me a line if you are interested - I will be putting an order in to Mongolia soon.

The figures all go in the Ger (Yurt) for off-season storage!

The website

I am in the throes of creating an e-commerce website to sell our stall goods online.  Now I have actually picked a website, the process is extremely fun, creative and frustrating.

I went with Shopwired - but the picking process was extensive, as there are a lot of sites/hosts/providers to choose from.

I have a website, but it's not live, so I won't provide a link - yet....

I also got an email, so if you want to know more, do drop me a line on:

colin@eastwest-creative.co.uk

More website news as it happens.

First Post (as opposed to last post, which is something entirely different).

Welcome to East West Creative's first post.

Just in case you got here another way, We're the couple who work with a Mongolian Fair Trade company by promoting their goods in the UK.

East West Creative I was a pop-up Fair Trade retailer selling at Craft markets in 2014 - 2015.  I had been asked to trial Mongolian products in the UK by Bill & Irene, the owners of Mary and Martha Mongolia .  We (Sarah womans the stall) found that we were well received by the public and we started to get interest.

Then in 2015 a very good friend offered me work in Indonesia, which ended last year.

Back in the UK, I re-started the Fair-Trade business with a view to trialling a web-site.

My other job has provided a lot of work over the summer - good for cashflow, bad for the time/energy needed for this project.  I now have the time to get this going.

You are very welcome to journey with us.
